How does the extension work?
Grok Media Manager intercepts API responses from grok.com to read (never modify) your media data. It stores metadata locally in your browser's IndexedDB and media files on your disk via the File System Access API. No data is sent to any external server except for license validation.
Is my data private?
Yes. All your media metadata stays in your browser. Media files are saved to a folder you choose on your own disk. The only external call is license key validation against our server. We never see your media or prompts.
What can I do with the Free tier?
The Free tier lets you sync all your media, search and filter, rate and add notes, and use all 4 gallery views. You're limited to viewing the first 1,000 items, 5 tags, and 3 categories. Saving to local disk, backup/restore, and export/import require Pro.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your synced metadata remains in your browser. You'll revert to the Free tier limits. Files already saved to your disk stay there. You can re-subscribe or buy Lifetime at any time to regain Pro features.
Can I switch from Monthly to Lifetime?
Yes. Cancel your monthly subscription, then purchase the Lifetime plan. Your data and settings will continue to work seamlessly with your new license key.
How do I activate my license?
After purchasing, you'll receive a license key on the success page. Open the extension's Manager view, find the License panel at the bottom of the left sidebar, paste your key, and click Activate.
What browsers are supported?
Grok Media Manager is a Chrome extension (Manifest V3). It works on Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers like Microsoft Edge and Brave.
Do I need a Grok account?
Yes, you need to be logged into grok.com. The extension reads your media data from Grok's API while you browse. It works with any Grok plan that has access to image/video generation.
